The Phyto serum products are concentrated herb extracts, which makes it more intensely
formulated compared to other Phyto products.
Etymologically, serum is based on a Latin word “whey” that usually refers to watery fluid
from animals. Now, it is widely used to refer to a component of hemoglobin that is collected after coagulation or
any clear bodily fluid.
Phyto serum is different from Phyto lotions, shampoo, creams, conditioners, gel and other
products of Phyto line because it does not typically utilize cream or lotion base. Instead, the Phyto serum uses
Hyaluronic Acid or Aloe Vera as a base in its concentrated formulations.
The Hyaluronic Acid is a common cosmetic ingredient, which is also being popularly called
as Hyaluronate or Hyaluronan. It is also commonly being used in skin care products like the Phyto Serum.
It was back in 2003 when the utilization of the hyaluronan for filling tissue defects has
been approved or allowed by the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) of the United States of America (USA). Today,
its common use is for anti-aging serum to temporarily hide wrinkles. What it does to the skin is that it adds
volume under the skin to cover up or smooth wrinkles. The typical dosage of injection of the Hyaluronic acid
usually last up to six (6) months from injection. Aside from wrinkles removal, it is also being utilized for lip
augmentation, reduction of folds and removal of scars.
The presence of this hyaluronic acid in the epithelial tissue has been proven to promote
keratinocyte proliferation and levelling up of the presence of retinoic acid. This makes the skin looks more
hydrated.
The Hyaluronic Acid is commercially called Restylane or Juverderm in common
trades.
There are several types of Phyto Serum, which contains this Hyaluronic Acid. It depends of
the usage or purpose of the products. These types are the Wrinkle Serum, Antioxidant Serum and Hydration
Serum.
The Wrinkle Serum, as stated in the discussion above is tasked to remove wrinkle marks
while the Antioxidant Serum is responsible in protecting the skin from the hazards of free radicals. Lastly, the
Hydration Serum is the one responsible in making the skin look moisturized.
With these, the concentrated formulation of the Phyto Serum makes the product more
effective when applied to the skin. While the other Phyto products are also useful and can be generally utilized,
this Phyto serum is only being used usually for targeted or focused skin-care treatments. Meaning, it is usually
being applied in isolated parts of the body that needs extra skin care, and not to the general parts of the human
body.
